Despisers Of This Mortal Coil

Florida based Thrashers CYST have obviously remained as some sort of sweet ear-candy only for a small amount of underground Thrash Metal fans for years already. Why that is so then – who actually knows. Perhaps their disappearance of a few years from the Metal scene, has teeny-weeny something to do with it? But one thing is certain: more people should become more aware of this highly frenzied Thrash Metal combo… I mean, seriously. CYST’s 2002 debut album, "Concussion Symphony" was a true kick-ass Thrash release, leaving people hungry for more. 9 years passed by almost just like that – and nobody really even knew anymore whether there would ever come another CYST album out again. Well, it did – despite all these delays and whatever setbacks there were, delaying the release of CYST’s 2nd album. "Despisers Of This Mortal Coil" is the title of these furious and brutal Thrashers’ follow-up record, supposedly recorded way back in 2004 already – and meant to come out in the end of 2008. But it never did, due to some untold circumstances. Better late than never then, I guess. CYST’s 10-track effort, "Despisers Of This Mortal Coil", is simply a darn vicious and kick-ass package of brutal in-yer-fuckin’-face Thrash Metal that neither begs for mercy nor takes any prisoners if I am allowed to use these stupid and totally worn-out but still very spot-on clichés in here. They sound like a bastard child of SLAYER’s viciousness and DEMOLITION HAMMER’s brutality, coming ruthlessly to your homes uninvited – and thrashing your place down like a couple of Superstorm Sandys in a row. Seriously speaking, CYST play the kind of Thrash that sounds like true Thrash; brutal, raw, helluva catchy and most importantly, they do it the way that makes us return back to their stuff over and over again, which it should actually do in the very first place. And that’s a pretty good sign about some timeless Thrash stuff, right? I just love their uncompromising and violent Thrash – and I bet you even might broke your left leg to get some of this for yourself too. Cannot wait to hear the band’s forthcoming album, titled "Requiem Of Ruin" either (which should be out while you are reading this). In the meantime, my wild guess is that all of you want absolutely know more about these leg-breaking Thrash-fuckers, right? If so, why are you still hesitating there then – just come over here: www.facebook.com/cystband
