Even though this fourpiece from northern Germany still looks rather young, they already manage to deliver the right feeling in their music pretty good. This four song promotional CD-R is the follow up to another mini CD entitled "Tot", which I unfortunately never got to hear. So judging DAKRYON by this new material exclusively they exactly seem to know how traditional, non wimpy Black Metal should sound like. Lyrically they obviously try to find a balance between German and English written material, while the music gets performed in a really raw, aggressive and always straight into your face vein. This is by no means your typical mainstream, keyboard dominated, easy accessible type of "Black" Metal, but a rather nordic, cold and eerie sounding version instead (no real surprise when you see that two of the members are wearing SATYRICON and DARK FUNERAL shirts…). For obvious reasons DAKRYON ain’t the most original band at all (even though they don’t use corpsepaint), but I still prefer their highly entertaining and well executed 20 minutes over pseudo unique sounding bullshit.
