DARK ORDER is an Australian Thrash Metal band in the Bay Area vein – calling their style Nuclear Thrash Metal. Whatsoever… Unfortunately this is not a new release but a remixed and remastered version of their album "The Violence Continuum" from the year 2002, first time ever released world wide. So we are talking about 4-5 year old recordings here. The brand of Thrash Metal DARK ORDER is playing isn’t original, isn’t really groundbreaking but damn solid. I hear huge influences from SACRED REICH, TESTAMENT or VIO-LENCE which is kinda nice and not really usual these times. The musicians are very skilled and the songwriting is pretty good, and with songs like ‘The Terran Empire’ or ‘Slaves Of A Namelass God’ they have some really good tunes on this disc. The only tiny disappointing thing here is their vocalist. Unfortunately he’s not able to keep the high level of the musicians here, from my point of view. Well, as we are talking about a 4-5 years old recording here, I’d be really interested in hearing some new tunes as DARK ORDER is doing their stuff pretty good and Bay Area sounding Thrash Metal isn’t something which you are able to hear on new releases so regular! OK, besides the songs from this album this CD offer on the other side a DVD with 2 videoclips and a few extra features. This is definitely value for money. So the only thing I’d recommend is to have a look on www.darkorder.com.au or listen to some of their tunes on their myspace-site www.myspace.com/darkorderthrashmetal to find out if this is something worth your money.
