Finnish Death / Thrash outfit DE LIRIUM’S ORDER have gone a long way since they were formed in 1998, 14 years ago. This bunch’s two previous albums – the debut "Victim No. 52" (2004) and its follow-up record "Diagnosis" (2007), were both relatively decent releases in their own legions – flagging for somewhat strong instrumental wankery and overall a great musicianship the DE LIRIUM’S ORDER camp were loaded with. As the band’s 2nd album, "Diagnosis" was released for almost 5 friggin’ years ago, I honestly believed the guys had already called its quits. Little I knew when it was announced that DE LIRIUM’S ORDER’s 3rd album was about to come out soon. Also, knowing that S.M. NecroC (aka Juha Kupiainen) made a damn radical decision by changing all the band members of DE LIRIUM’S ORDER in summer 2010, it made me very skeptical whether Juha could be able to pull off right persons for delivering his new set of perversions on the band’s 3rd recording, which carried the title "Veniversum". Now, having played "Veniversum" nonstop like 4-5 times in a row, I suggest you to not be too worried about the band’s achievements on this third opus: "Veniversum" hits you the same way like a couple of galaxies would be in a all-ending collision course, bursting out every possible direction with such intensity and power that pretty much leave our jaws wide open for sheer amazement. DE LIRIUM’S ORDER’s merits as a very ambitious, challenging and unique sounding act, are unquestionable on "Veniversum". Even if the album’s packed with several different single details – and it may even take some time for each listener to get them fully absorbed and registered into your personal jukebox system, I am 100% confident to say DE LIRIUM’S ORDER have truly topped themselves this time. The band’s combination of both progressive and über-technical Death and Thrash Metal has many different depths and layers in it; churning out unexpected tempo changes seem to be more like every day routine to them than any exception – and the joy of a musical challenge is always there, moving the bar of innovation higher and higher all the time for these lads. If you are looking for some musical reference points to their style, later era DEATH, NECROPHAGIST, PSYCROPTIC, THE FACELESS and OBSCURA should do it, coming instantly to my mind on the very top of the pile. "Veniversum" is nothing like I have heard from any Finnish Metal band before – and without even exaggerating too much, "Veniversum" is probably one of the finest and most thought out Finnish Metal releases of all-time. No kidding, dear folks! Get it – and get ready to be totally amazed by it… what an astonishing release this truly is, from beginning to end! Find more info at: www.deliriumsorder.net
