Imagine a heavier FIFTH ANGEL or a more straight-forward version of QUEENSRYCHE mixed with the more recent offerings of JUDAS PRIEST and include with that a John Bush of ARMORED SAINT sound-alike handling the mic. If you can do this, than you have the Heavy Metal Rock entity known as DEAF SYMPHONY from Las Vegas, Nevada now in your head. Ten songs are on display here that musically are very well played, actually sung over and delivered with a serious amount of conviction that I have not heard in quite some time. Honorable mention goes to the overall production of this CD! As most of the recordings I have heard lately pale in comparison and this one that DEAF SYMPHONY has for "Chains Of Love" is actually on my Top 10 list. My only real complaint about this disc are with the lyrics. Not that they don’t fit with the music per se, it’s just that three quarters of the songs on here work together exceptionally well and the other quarter, at times, come off sort of cheesy and definitely tarnish if not spoil the rest. Songs in particular that I would re-work / edit  would be a few of the lines within ‘Insurrection’ and of course the choruses of ‘Breaking The Walls’, ‘Sanctuary Of The Mind’ and ‘When The Body Is Dead’. That being said however, I honestly think with a bit more scrutiny to their writing and the continued professionalism of their music and pro recording of their releases. DEAF SYMPHONY absolutely have the potential to make it in the Power Metal movement (.resurgence?) that is happening now.
