DEATHWITCH
Violence Blasphemy Sodomy

I am not familiar at all with DEATHWITCH’s past career, so don’t count on me to compare this new offering to the previous ones. What I hear in on “Violence Blasphemy Sodomy” is a nice mixture between old Thrash and Death Metal, but I am afraid it is not enough to make the enthusiasm surge in my camp. Add to this that the band ‘don’t give a fuck about what (journalists) think’ about them, and you will understand why I didn’t feel the urge to review this (even if I don’t view myself as a journalist, merely a Metal devotee who has the luck to share his personal views with other people). If it was not I received this CD through a promo service, I would have never bought it by myself, simply because I don’t know DEATHWITCH as a sure value in the extreme music field. And the listening of this album confirms the fact DEATHWITCH are skilful to play their instruments well but fail to build up a captivating atmosphere which can grab the attention and retain it the time of a whole album. All the tracks are short and to the point, but none of them could be labelled at least as interesting. I don’t have to waste with this kind of release anymore, life is short and I have tons of more interesting music to listen to. And by the way, I am pretty sure DEATHWITCH don’t need the media support to promote their ‘art’.
