This is already the fourth full length from Denmark’s DOMINUS, but for me the first I really listened to. Can’t tell you if the band already followed a similar musical path on their previous releases “View To The Dim”, “The First 9” or “Vol.Beat”, but judging them by this new offering here, I have to admit that I’m not too impressed by the overall result. I just can’t get into their old Bay Area styled Thrash that got mixed up with some more brutal, almost Death Metal – ish elements. It simply lacks a little too much in energy and power and doesn’t sound crushing enough for my taste. The way the raw vocal melody lines get performed often even remind me on a James Hetfield type of singing. Even though the four guys are quite obviously trying very hard to come up with a unique style on their own, the overall material probably won’t really appeal to Thrash nor Death Metal maniacs. And the stupid pink cover color won’t help them sell records either…
