German DOOMSTONE play ‘Death-Thrash-Metal with different elements’ and fortunately the music is better than is rather silly stylistic description. The four guys from Trier mix influences from traditional Death / Thrash à la MALEVOLENT CREATION, REVENANT with the melodic elements and vocal-style of mid-to-late CARCASS plus add some progressive moments, which remind me of SADUS “Elements Of Anger”. The recording was a collaboration between Soundlodge and Morrisound Studios and is definitely as heavy and transparent as it should be. So far so good, what I did not like that much was the indecisive performance of vocalist Eric, I think he should reduce the Jeff Walker in his voice and concentrate more on the audible US-Death / Thrash influence. Besides this small dark spot DOOMSTONE’s second offering “Disharmonic” is a good album, fans of progressive and varied Death / Thrash should check out!
