DR. SHRINKER is a rather old Death Metal band who’s been active again since 2013 and a band which definitely deserves to be called ‘legendary’. DR. SHRINKER is rather famous in the underground scene because of their amazing demo "Wedding The Grotesque" (1989). For the album "Contorted Dioramic Palette" – which is actually their debut since there never was a ‘real’ album released by them, apart from a compilation of their demos – the band re-recorded a few old tracks (‘Repulsive Habbits’, ‘Rawhead Rex’, ‘No Way To Live’) together with a few new songs. The first thing you notice when listening to this album is that the old songs still sound fresh and excellent. ‘Mesmerization (Of A Corpse)’ and especially the classic ‘Chunk Blower’ remain great songs. The vocals of frontman Rich Noonan Jr. have also hardly changed and still sound as sick as ever. For all of you who don’t know this band, musically DR. SHRINKER could be described somehow as a mixture of IMPETIGO and OBITUARY… pretty simple and rather accessible but really great Death Metal thanks to the galloping drums and ripping riffs. "Contorted Dioramic Palette" also has a clear and heavy production and the booklet with very cool artwork also deserves to be mentioned. There were only 1000 copies of this album made for this first edition. The easiest way to order this CD is through the website of Dread Records www.dreadrecords.net.
