ENTOMBED
When In Sodom Revisited
(Threeman Recordings / Screaming Records)
10:29min

Alright, alright, alright. This ENTOMBED 7" was already released back in 2012. So it’s not that new. But still their latest release since the 2007 album "Serpent Saints". You can get this collector’s item in limited gold and silver vinyl (475 pieces each). But I guess it’s officially sold out. Perhaps you can still get it on ebay for a serious amount of money. Anyway. Both (gold and silver) versions feature ‘When In Sodom’ remixed and remastered on side a and the KING DIAMOND cover of ‘Welcome Home’ plus an additional instrumental track ‘Sodom Revisited’ on side b. Strangely ‘When In Sodom’ is a very busy tune. This song was featured on the 2006 "When In Sodom" EP, on the full length album "Serpent Saints" and now again in this 7". Maybe next year as an unplugged or dub-step version on tape, guys?; -) Just kidding. The remixed and remastered version is all fine. But the real highlight is the cover version of KING DIAMOND’s ‘Welcome Home’. Their first new recording available for the public since 2007, if I’m right!? Anyway. This single song is all worth buying this 7". The original version by the KING is very good. But mighty ENTOMBED brings the dirt and rawness to the surface. It’s just fantastic listening to ENTOMBED doing what they do best. This cover version makes even more serious appetite for some new ENTOMBED songs, and vocalist L.G. Petrov is still one helluva singer. Wish us luck, that the guys will release a new album of original material as soon as possible. We deserve it urgently. Horns up!!!
