Dear Olivier. Allow me this kind of familiarity, despite the fact we don’t know each other. In theory, this should have been a review of your latest effort, “Crises De Lucidité”. To tell you the crudest of truth, I thought your band/project EROS NECROPSIQUE was history in 2003. I have never heard a single note of your music before the recent and fateful day your last album reached my mailbox. Olivier, I am sorry, but I can’t review this for the benefit of the VOICES FROM THE DARKSIDE readers. Don’t be disappointed though, and let me explain: we are only Metal fans, content enough with the sound of screaming guitars and pounding drums, and with silly lyrics mostly based on cheap Satanism and gory topics. I am afraid we are not mentally equipped and mature enough to grasp, let alone understand, the magnificence of your music and the delicacy of your poetry (because I suppose Baudelaire, Verlaine and Rimbaud are the main sources of your inspiration). Through your art, you tell us you suffer a great deal living the life you live. And your relation with sexuality seems to be troubled enough to alarm me, at least for a few seconds. The problem is, Olivier, that we cannot do anything for you, for the reason you don’t belong to our Metal world. Yet I am sure you have a public somewhere, but surely not here pal! So, for our mutual sake, stay away from us. Your label proudly announces that a fourth is done and even that a fifth album is coming our way. Do me a favour Olivier, and forget me next time. Thanks in advance. Yours (un)truly:

Edouard Vergriete
