Obituary For The Living

In the history of Thrash Metal, there were some great bands whose names started with the prefix “EX-”… You know: EXODUS, EXUMER, EXHORDER… So, a name like EXALTER seems to be a promise for at least fine Thrash stuff. And “Obituary For The Living” keeps that (unmade) promise. From the first riff, EXALTER from Bangladesh convinced me with their assault attack of thrashing rage. The seven songs weren’t recorded and released to re-invent, but to refresh the genre. And this mission was accomplished. Anyone looking for a fine Thrash record that kicks ass is not only welcome but even advised to check “Obituary For The Living”. He or she will get a riff massacre that is somewhere between the Bay Area and the early days of European Thrash, the influence of the latter especially is the a little naive approach. Maybe I should replace “naive” with “innocent”, but the result is nearly the same. And it will not change that especially ‘Surrounded By Evil’ (great shout-along chorus), the ripping ‘Nuclear Punishment’ and the final grenade ‘White Phosphorus Shell’ is among the finest Thrash stuff of the year. As I said, I can only advise you to check out the band at www.facebook.com/exalterbd. Transcending Obscurity, the label that delivers nearly any fine Metal recording from Southern Asia, you can contact at this location: http://transcendingobscurityindia.bandcamp.com
