My exposition with Chinese bands is rather low. Metal is a form of communication that will reach any place and China will be no exception. This time we are talking about Thrash Metal in the Bay Area style, very much in the vein of VIO-LENCE, FORBIDDEN, early METALLICA, DEFIANCE, EXODUS… Well, you know the game. And it is not bad. The production is very good, has a quite old school Thrash approach, and the music is also very well executed, with very good solos. The vocals are maybe a matter of taste as they have a slight core touch. They sometimes also remind me of  German Thrash like DEATHROW, TANKARD and DESTRUCTION but with a firm Bay Area sound. Even the cover art reminds a lot of the Ed Repka drawings that were the law for Thrash Metal records back in the 80s. This kind of Thrash Metal is the one you put in a stereo and just enjoy blasting crazy melodies at fast speed. There is nothing new or something that has never been done before; this is about the epitome of the 10 rules of Thrash Metal done. And yet, I find it entertaining. It is that kind of album you will not remember a song the day after but that will anyway make you smile for bringing memories of many other bands. And they have a juicy guitar tone that fits the music the way it should be. Fans of Thrash Metal bands will surely dig this one, and even old school bastards that are looking for good Thrash Metal bands in these days will surely find one or two riffs that will surely make them headbang and raise a fist in the air. www.facebook.com/explosicum, www.areadeathproductions.com
