Spirit Of Sorrow
FEAR OF ETERNITY plays slow romantic ultra sweet Black Metal drenched with lots of moody keyboard tinkling. Actually not all melodies are bad, some remind me of the lighter, more uplifting compositions of Angelo Badalamenti. Some guitar can be heard faintly in the background, the vocals are the usual Black Metal snarl. According to the info sheet, the band “recalls the deeply occult atmospheres of […] Mortuary Drape, Necromantia, Mystifier…” but I somehow fail to hear that. I tried several times to sit through this piece of mellow and keyboard dominated Black Metal in its entirety – to no avail. Track skipping didn’t help either. I doubt many Voices readers would have that patience.
