FEROCITY
The Sovereign

I hadn’t come across FEROCITY yet, so I was pleasantly surprised by their latest output "The Sovereign". According to the band, their heavy focus on grind and blastbeats is strongly owed to their latest addition, Nikolaj Kjærgaard, on the drums. Apart from that intense and brutal aspect in the Danish guys’ sound, they don’t neglect their old trademark, namely a sinister melodic touch. So you get a mélange of ass kickin’ drive that doesn’t allow you to sit still in your armchair and old school melodies that’ll make you pose in front of your stereo as if the last 20 years hadn’t happened. I also appreciate that you can almost understand the vocals. Makes ‘em more menacing in my opinion. Check out the brutal opener ‘… And The Rest Is Silence’, the mighty title track and ‘Blood Trophy’ with its evil solos. If these guys are live as intense as on record, expect a severe beating! www.facebook.com/ferocity666, www.deepsend.com
