Good ingredients indeed! Doom / Death from Sweden with flutes and violins, extreme and clean vocals… 3 songs, 30 minutes. Hell yeah! Shall I say more? All right, the biggest influence seems to be MY DYING BRIDE, but FOREST OF SHADOWS use more acoustic instruments, like the aforementioned ones. I’m not too happy with the vocals, though: the grunts are okay, but the clean vocals are lacking passion a bit. Still, this CD is highly recommended for each and every Doom / Death fan as, just like the mini CD of their label mates OMNIUM GATHERUM, this one will be sold for the price of a single and I think it’s worth it, so what are you waiting for?
