I’m tempted to call this band the American VADER, they sound so alike. However, much as I like a good, solid VADER album, if you’ve heard one, you’ve practically heard them all. FRACTURED INSANITY, I fear, copy a band that likes to copy itself. A copy of an original that also copies itself over and over. Convoluted as this may sound, just think of DISMEMBER. You know what I’m talking about. This is analogous to a problem Scott Burns commented on in a video shot in 1993 at Morrisound: “Why listen to a clone of Metallica when Metallica already exists?”, is what he said. I’m not quoting verbatim, but that is the meat of his point. He goes on to say that it’s cool bands are trying, but many of them need to rethink themselves. I happen to like what FRACTURED INSANITY does, and I mean them no disrespect. But they did such a good job of sounding like VADER (intentional or not) that I might as well just stick with VADER. As for you – well, buy it and see if you agree or disagree. More info at: www.myspace.com/fracturedinsanity, www.xtreemmusic.com
