While we’re on the subject of hot shit from the USA, we can’t help but introduce and applaud the new band of Blake Ibanez, well known from POWER TRIP. In less than a quarter of an hour, a bunch of five guys making it clear how the wind is blowing over the fields of rancid, itching, old school Thrash and Death Metal. A short, snappy intro and the riff monster from a title track is already rubbing itself into the listener’s ear canals. Extremely fat sawn guitars, drums banging through the overall picture somewhere in the Hardcore and Punk corner and… If one would say the singer might be the offspring of John Tardy of OBITUARY, we would believe him right away. Second number. ‘Hell’s Half Acre’! Sawing the guitar briefly, threw up once into the microphone and then the whole track rolled forward very dirty in mid-tempo until the concrete crumbled from the ceiling of their practice cellar. A little later comes a bit of a SLAYER riffing on the six-string, “I am The Antichrist” drums, a bit of bass mumbling and vocals, and ‘Neutralized’ is done. Everything fits like an ass on a bucket! At the end the fivesome, in which members of SKOURGE and CREEPING DEATH also let off steam, donates us a really successful BATHORY cover with ‘Raise The Dead’. This EP sounds like a dark cellar hole, a lot of fire under the musicians’ asses and total passion. There is no better way to make a debut. I want more! Please!
