GRAVE DESECRATOR
Sign Of Doom
(Blood Harvest Records)
49:42min

GRAVE DESECRATOR’s first full-length recording “Sign Of Doom” is like a punch in your face. It’s brutal, it’s raw, it’s a typical Brazilian Black Death massacre and far more than this. The sound (mastered by Andy Classen at Stage One Studio) is killer for such a chaotic form of Metal – wonder what he thought about this order, haha. In a way I would consider this release as “exactly what you expect” but “more than you can request”. GRAVE DESECRATOR obviously love their old SARCOFAGO and SEPULTURA records and the influences are clear to recognize, still this 4-piece is everything else than a copycat of the originals. This LP kicks ass and is one of the most outstanding releases in this genre. Everything fits, everything is on the right place and even the layout is perfect. It’s skulls, chains, leather, spikes, black eyes and visual brutality what you can find on this beautiful looking (hehe) vinyl-release. Blood Harvest did a wise decision to scratch this recording in black vinyl (the CD-version was released through German Ketzer Records a few months ago) for all of us vinyl junkies here. To keep it short: GRAVE DESECRATOR know what they are doing and if you are out for an untrendy release and would like to support Black Death Metal in the old South American tradition then you have to check out “Sign Of Doom”. “Praise the Brazilian Blackest Metal Massacre!!!!!” as it is printed on the LP-booklet. The said LP-version is available through Blood Harvest Records and the CD-version through Ketzer Records. Decide for your own what medium you prefer… www.bloodharvest.se and www.ketzer-records.de.
