I don’t want to sound like an arrogant bastard, but there are bands out there that are so awful that it is hard to find non-vulgar words to describe them. In this case the best thing about HATRED DIVINE is their logo!!! Despite that, the German four-piece dedicated to create a mixture of atmospheric Black and Dark Metal commits a couple of serious musical crimes that degrades their second demo CD "Of Light And The Absence Of Light" to one of the most ridiculous albums I have ever heard: they use a drum computer, which I tolerate only on MORTICIAN’s "Chainsaw Dismemberment", the keyboards are way too dominant and even louder than the vocals, the riffs are lame, the guitar sound is even worse than the one I get from my 25 Watts amp and I have heard rehearsal tapes that had a better production than this CD. I’m really sorry guys, I really prefer to write positive reviews than such negative ones and I don’t want to be unfair or cruel, but "Of Light And The Absence Of Light" is absolutely horrible!!! I guess HATRED DIVINE just wanted too much too early. They should try to reduce the musical elements in their sound to the most essential ones and instead of improving their drum programming skills should invest more time in looking for a real drummer.
