HINSIDES

The times when every Norwegian newcomer has been praised and warmly welcomed are definitely gone and so it’s no surprise that a lot of record labels are working with far too big names to introduce their new bands. HINSIDES are a relative young band (founded in 2005 with only one demo release “The Forthcoming Of Abell 1689”, 2008) and their debut MCD – based on the info sheet of their label – should be an interesting release for all fans of old DARKTHRONE and SATYRICON. The album starts with an uninspired ambient intro before the title track shows the real face of this band. There is no doubt that HINSIDES are real followers of the true Norwegian Black Metal art and the 10 minutes song shows the right attitude and some interesting fragments. So far for the positive points – meaning one good song – the following three tracks are 15 minutes of nice but in every aspect (aggression, atmosphere etc.) totally average Black Metal. This album is hardly worth any further words – “Etemenanki’s Followers” is a 100 percent typical release without anything essential – and even a release 15 years earlier wouldn’t changed this situation. www.hinsides.biz, www.bloodred-horizon-records.com
