HOUSE OF ATREUS
Demo I
(Antitheist Disseminations)

It seems like they’ve hit the right ore of Metal at Antitheist Disseminations, yet a release from their hand from a band from Minneapolis that spews forth hard hitting and soulful Metal. HOUSE OF ATREUS is delivering a grim and raw version of blackened Death Metal that once in while draws musical comparison to both ARGHOSLENT and GRAND BELIAL’S KEY. So atmospheric and dark with a melodic and gripping intensity. War on the established norms of society intertwined into Greek tragedies and Shakespearean thematics is how the lyrical universe is delivered, quite effectively and to the point, greatly backed up by the great guitar riffs and pounding rhythm patterns. The vocals are effective as well, a deep haunting growl that goes hand in hand with the guitar melodies and brutal riffing. This isn’t the most original release I’ve laid ears upon this year, though the delivery and intensity of the music is grand, and sucks me right into the universe of HOUSE OF ATREUS, and keeps me in their universe, even when the tape have reached the end. This band could have some of a future ahead of them, as long as they keep it obscure, raw and brutally intense as on this release, as this is damn fine Metal!
