"Humanity will suffer for an eternity." These words spoken in album opener ‘The Enigma Of Subsistence’ are indicative of the brutal Death Metal that awaits you in HUMAN VIVISECTION’s debut "The Perpetual Gap". Spawned in Belgium, this five-piece know their brutality. The ripping monstrosity of the first actual song ‘Age Of Disgust’ will rip the flesh from your face. It doesn’t let up in third track ‘The Perpetual Gap’. The good thing about HUMAN VIVISECTION is they consistently work their way through the album in classic Death Metal style, with a few cricket-chirruping, throat-gurgling vocals thrown in for good measure. Yenthe Meeus delivers vocals to freeze hellspawn in their tracks. Guitarists Rob Feyen and Sonny Hanoulle crunch and throat-punch their way through kick-ass tracks ‘The Transmutation Program’ and ‘Feed The Warmachine’, two beasts stomping their way through this monster of a debut. And they don’t let up. ‘Birth Of A Defective Race’ trudges onward like a fucking colossus on a bloodthirsty warpath. The low, esophagus-tearing vocals of ‘Consumed By The 4th Dimension’ pound and bludgeon us until we scream for mercy. And just when you think you can catch a breath, the machine-gun fire of guitars, bass (Robbie Cuypers) and drums (Olivier Smeets) knock you ass back down. Only on the final track ‘The Inevitable Confine Of Existence’ we do see a lighter side of HUMAN VIVISECTION, with pianos tinkling in and out of the steady guitar / drums atmosphere. This band doesn’t open new doors. However, if you’re looking for steady, ball-busting Death Metal, "The Perpetual Gap" will soothe your appetite.
