HUMANITY DELETE / CARNAL GARDEN

HUMANITY DELETE is basically another band from Swedish multi instrumentalist Rogga Johansson. He is known for playing in lots bands and projects (PAGANIZER, RIBSPREADER, NECROGOD and MEGASCAVENGER to name a few). This time he is not only playing all instruments but also handling all the vocals. It is amazing that Rogga has managed to have so many bands and still manage to keep his sound and style so identifiable, yet different from one another. This time, with HUMANITY DELETE, he goes for heavy, mid-paced Death Metal with mid-range growls. The production is really good. Even though the mix is clear and polished, the overall tone of the recording is gritty and edgy. And it works perfectly for these 4 songs. Albeit he is not bringing anything new to the table, HUMANITY DELETE is basically another great example of how Swedish Death Metal should sound nowadays. On the other side of this split release, we get Greek act CARNAL GARDEN. Formed in 2015, they have an EP and a full length already under their belts. Their brand of Death Metal is more raw and obscure. The vocals are deep, the guitar tone thick and full of mid-range, punchy drums and pounding bass tone. The NWOSDM influence is there mixed with some UK Death Metal bits and pieces similar to some European Death Metal demos from the early 90s. They do sound their best when they speed up, as in my fave track ‘Enemy Territory’. CARNAL GARDEN is another good Death Metal band that has a lot of space to evolve into something more unique. This is a solid release with two excellent Death Metal bands. Go ahead and check it out. Contact the bands here www.reverbnation.com/humanitydelete and here www.facebook.com/carnalgarden.
