IN DEMONI
The Grand Slam

Superficially considered one may pigeonhole this release as Grindcore or Fun Grind. But do not be fooled by the visual realization (done by Rudi Yanto) of the title "The Grand Slam" or songs named ‘Professor Cambium Dick’ or ‘Balls Of Bigfoot’. When it comes to the music itself the five-piece from Germany take their task seriously. Besides the cover there are some, more or less funny, samples arranged throughout the playing time. But thankfully short ones since I really dislike terribly long samples. IN DEMONI place the focus on the music, which can be described as brutal Death Metal. In fact more with a technical approach, no stone-age and one-dimensional clumsy Death Metal awaits the listener. But, and this is important, it is not too technical. Sometimes brutal Death Metal acts tip over to something for which the term Mathcore was introduced to the scene. IN DEMONI benefit from a very talented guitar work (lots of razor sharp riffs and solos at very fast speed) but stay at every moment engaged in writing listenable songs with a high level of brutality. Another positive aspect is the complete absence of Pig Squeals and Frog Noises. Guttural growls with a little bit variation here and there and an above average sound round off the second full-length by IN DEMONI.
