ISOLE
Silent Ruins

I don’t think that anybody who is interested in Doom Metal needs a further introduction to the – more or less – famous Swedish act ISOLE. Out of the ashes of their former band FORLORN they established in only five years a wide fan base and their fourth album of epic Doom Metal (the first 2 releases via I Hate Records and the final one also via Napalm Records) will not stop their terrifying ascent. “Silent Ruins” is a great album with really good songs and especially the longer compositions are like a very slow descend into everybody’s personal abyss. What makes their music so great are the different “emotions” within one song. ISOLE are in the position to light even the darkest piece of their soul and by doing this the band is sometimes crossing the border between Doom and Heavy Metal. These tendencies are further supported by the different vocals which are like the colors of an autumn tree – very different but in some way still very similar. This is the way real Doom Metal should sound and if the band can maintain this quality level their releases on an annual basis are more than warmly welcome. Emotional music far away from any mainstream! www.napalmrecords.com, www.forevermore.se
