Six years after their last album, french horde KARNE from Nancy return with full-length number three. As I really liked their last album, I was curious to hear the new material after this long break. The opener ‘Mandragores’ already convinces with all trademarks the band has to offer. Very matured, melodic Black Metal with raw vocals, intense drumming and a very fine sense for melodies. KARNE have not changed the direction but within their style, they managed to refine their fine sense for songwriting. ‘Kamarde’ continues the same path but is a lot faster and with a very fine lead guitar melody, good and fine technical breaks and also the vocals vary within the well-known caws and screams. Still a little hidden treasure, KARNE really play in the Champions League of European Black Metal. Also I like that they incorporate some raw Black Metal guitars here and there instead of just being melodic all way long. ‘Caffa’ is another outstanding track as they show their melodic, slower side and pair it with fast but melodic tunes. The last tracks ‘Le Silence Est D’Ordre’ and ‘La Fin Aux Misérables’ are on the same high level and also offer fast and melodic tunes. KARNE is one of the bands which definitely deserve more attention and fans of melodic Black Metal can purchase this killer output without hestitation. Another highlight in this genre in this still young year. For more info, please check one of the following sources: www.facebook.com/karnebm, www.facebook.com/epictural
