KILL THE LORD
Decrowned II: Trinity Ablaze
(Darkness Shall Rise Productions)
15:25min

So, upon seeing the name of the band, KILL THE LORD, you can safely assume you will not be listening to any festive mood and cheer for the coming holidays. What was initially released as a two-song independent demo is now a four-song EP from Darkness Shall Rise Productions. What you can expect from this platter is a sort of raw DISMEMBER, NECROPHAGIA hybrid with some mild AUTOPSY elements. The guitar sound is biting courtesy of your obligatory Boss HM-2 pedal. Overall their sound has those aforementioned elements but there is a slightly different approach to their songwriting style. Nothing bad mind you it’s just bits and pieces that pop up in the songs themselves. Like for example the vocal approach is reminiscent of Chris Reifert. It is sort of a low gurgle growl but with some spoken elements interspersed as well. There is a cool little bass interlude at the end of ‘Food For Worms’ which leads into an almost Rock-ish ending. Track 3 is a mildly off-kilter instrumental of sorts with some spoken parts scattered about. To add to the overall chaotic nature of the songs you get a new cover for this release that lends itself to the overall presentation and vibe of this release. Not too bad in the overall, it will only take up 15 minutes of your time if you are in need of a slightly different take to all your ENTOMBED and DISMEMBER clones out there (it is also available on vinyl as a split release with Austrian Deathers FESSUS – Frank). https://killthelord.bandcamp.com, www.facebook.com/darknessshallriseproductions
