LUNG MOLDE is a new band from Portland, Oregon. The three band members are hiding behind cryptic names: MS, AD and JH, names that don’t really hint on relations to other bands. So it’s pretty hard to say anything about LUNG MOLDE, except that they’re a band with a mission. And their mission is to create the most depressive, dope sick and down-bringing music possible. Additionally, their sick mix of Sludge and Doom Metal, with some hints on Stoner Metal as well just scream “alcohol and drug (ab-)use”! A song title like ‘Skulls In The Acid Well’ is not really a counter argument there anyway. But let’s put that thing with the psychedelic stuff aside and give “Lung Molde” another listen. Otherwise, we would miss a damn heavy album, that walks the thin line between genius and insanity, between Doom and Sludge with the certainty of a sleepwalker. Heaviness won’t do without a well dosed grain of melody, and LUNG MOLDE know that. Thus the six songs here are a rollercoaster ride through the depths of heaviness, gloom and nearly comatose moments. Not a ride for the weak, but for those who stand the hardness of Doom. Find out more at http://lungmolde.bandcamp.com. And I just ask myself again, why it is not a wonder that Caligari Records is the label that discovered LUNG MOLDE? Anyway, they’re responsible for a fine tape edition of the album, limited to 175 copies. So visit www.caligarirecords.com or www.facebook.com/caligarirecords
