MISCARRIAGE
Homicidal Mania Trilogy
(BRC30 Productions)
75:07min

Before you get me wrong: I do always like some good Grindcore, as long as it is well played, a little bit diversified and neither too clean nor too raw produced. But sadly all these trademarks for good Grind won’t fit for this release from the international duo MISCARRIAGE. The stuff that Ulf Nylin from Sweden on drums and Jon Paxton from the U.S. on all other instruments deliver here was originally released as three separate digital albums (“Homicidal Mania” I – III) earlier this year on Bandcamp. Now the Belgian label BRC30 Productions released all three of them on one CD, thus compiling thirty songs in 75 minutes. And you can believe me, it’s hard to stand this huge mass of noise unless you’re a complete Grind maniac who thinks that vocals are not meant to be at least a bit understandable and the only purpose of musical instruments is creating a wall of noise. Noise that in this case is nothing else than annoying. Imagine Porn Grind without samples from porno movies and you have a good description how MISCARRIAGE sound on this “Homicidal Mania Trilogy” and what kind of quality they deliver. As I said, it is nearly impossible to listen to the whole album in one go, my approach was listening to one chapter and having a longer break (I suggest twenty years or so). But it didn’t help much anyway – I still can not recommend “Homicidal Mania Trilogy” to anybody into any kind of music.
