Feasting The Macabre
(Memento Mori)
28:32min
MORBUS GRAVE’s second full length “Feasting The Macabre” is a simple straightforward Death Metal record that doesn’t stray from its path. MORBUS GRAVE is a traditional Death Metal band based out of the fashion capital Milan, Italy. They play primitive Death Metal, paying homage to the old school roots. The best part of the band’s sound is right from the get go, they make no unnecessary deviations, they know their lane and stick to it and closely following this is the bass tone on the album. I absolutely love the thick, fat tone of the bass across the entirety of the album. It’s such a welcome sound! The vocals are standard, the drumming is adequate and the best representation of what the band does is the track ‘Funeral Embodiment’. Any fans of traditional Death Metal coupled with a Doom envelope will gobble up this record, the production is on point and the album sounds amazing! At just 28:32min in length, MORBUS GRAVE ensures they don’t waste a second. Does this record have brand new ideas through and through? Not necessarily, but I love their sound and how they execute their vision. In all honesty, this is quite well done.
