Doom? Not so sure about that. No BLACK SABBATH, no SAINT VITUS, no CANDLEMASS, no SOLITUDE AETURNUS on here. If you consider MY DYING BRIDE, (early) PARADISE LOST or ANATHEMA as being Doom… maybe. But the melodies and especially the keyboards sound so "happy" I’d call it Gothic if I was being nasty. Secondly, the album is way too "fast". With this point of view I probably need a therapy but what the heck! Fact is: I like "Frozen Dust". It has a powerful and strikingly natural production (drum sound!). Actually, the record even kind of cheers me up! On the other hand, none of the songs has the same emotional impact a SOLITUDE AETURNUS song has on me, for example, and they don’t reach the depth of MY DYING BRIDE, either. Isn’t Doom supposed to breathe spirituality a little? At least that’s what I’d like to think. Still, if you’re into this kind of sound, buying "Frozen Dust" is a good option if you have more or less all of the albums of the aforementioned gods, as MORPHIA is a good band indeed. Probably the label "Doom" spoiled it a bit for me. http://morphia.nl
