Florida’s once Power Metal kings are back after a 12-year hiatus (well the regular reunion shows always let me envisaged a reformation fortunately) and back with a vengeance! Fuck yeah! What we have here is a six track affair, two new numbers (‘Sardonic Mosiac’ and ‘Wage Of Mayhem Part 1’), two totally crushing mid paced numbers which sticks in your mind very quickly, both in the “Penetration Point” vein in my opinion (even if the band strongly disagrees), Ronnie’s voice is still as powerful as ever, excellent lead work from Austin and Meyer especially on ‘Sardonic…’, superb drumming courtesy of the one and only Curtis Beeson and the “Wage Of Mayhem” ’84 cult demo (note that I use the word cult because this one really deserves to be labelled as cult!) which is still as classy and great to listen to as it was nearly 20 years ago. ‘Witches Sabbath’ finally appears on an album and it was about time considering how killer this tune is. Yeah, a superb comeback album and definitively the most convincing so far out of all the 80s Power / Speed / Thrash bands that are back (along with WARNING SF’s “Aftermath” and EXODUS’ “Another Lesson…” masterpieces), no fuckin’ doubt! Sure the orgy of ripping riffing / haunting atmospheres from the ‘Psychopath’ or ‘Asmodeus’ days are maybe gone but NASTY SAVAGE 2003 are still capable to kick our asses in a major way! Hell yeah! Welcome back guys – the scene needed you real bad.
