Condemned To The System

No less than 23 years after the release of their debut full length "Crime Against Humanity", LA Grinders NAUSEA finally came up with its follow-up "Condemned To The System". Ok, to remain fair here, the four piece was on hold between 1994 and 2001, went through various line-up changes (vocalist / guitarist Oscar Garcia and drummer Eric Castro are the only steady members of the band) and constantly released material on demos throughout the years. Nowadays the line-up is completed by bass player Alejandro Corredor (DIA DE LOS MUERTOS) and guitarist Leon del Müerte (EXHUMED, IMPALED, PHOBIA etc.) and they both seem like a breeze of fresh air to the band. If you compare "Condemned To The System" to "Crime Against Humanity" you’ll easily notice the way better, heavier production, the more upfront and crunchier guitar sound, the tighter drumming and overall more punching rhythm section. The songs themselves (except for 3 of them, all already appeared on the aforementioned demos) come across a lot more straight ahead and into your face and constantly recall one legendary album to me, and that is entitled "World Downfall"! Ok, both feature Oscar on vocals and NAUSEA even re-recorded ‘Corporation Pull-In’ for "Condemned To The System", but it’s not only that. It’s the whole atmosphere, the songwriting and sound that make the latest two TERRORIZER comeback attempts ("Darker Days Ahead" and "Hordes Of Zombies") sound pretty lame in direct comparison. NAUSEA’s album easily blows them both away with ease! So, if you’re still waiting on a worthy "World Downfall" follow-up, or just consider yourself a fan of classic Grindcore make sure to buy a copy of "Condemned To The System" straight away because it is one of the coolest albums of 2014!
