Wow, this is what I call a nice surprise! Never heard anything about this band before, got a copy by chance and already the gatefold packaging, additional insert and heavy vinyl got me hyped. Putting it on at work and I immediately was convinced by this Polish duo’s uncompromising doomy Death Metal heavily inspired by HELLHAMMER / CELTIC FROST while being overall closer to the sublime darkness and thundering groove of Israel’s SONNE ADAM than a mere copycat like APOCALYPTIC RAIDS or WARHAMMER. NECROMANTICAL SCREAMS somehow manage to not just sound “oooold” if you get my point. The diverse and constantly intensifying ‘Blessed Death’ unfortunately is the only own song on this EP whereas the B-side contains a albeit impeccable cover of CELTIC FROST’s ‘Necromantical Screams’ – sorta obvious, isn’t it? I would have loved to hear more original material on this EP but I’m confident these lads will present us a follow up some day soon as they delivered an ideal start with their 2013 released debut EP.
