NEGURA BUNGET
'N Crugu Bradului

Highly original! Not counting a mini album and the ’95 demo, “‘N Crugu Bradului” is already the third album of Transsylvanian Pagan Black Metal outfit NEGURA BUNGET. Differently from other paganizers, they keep it bloody and to a certain extend primitive, meaning the band neither belongs to the high-tech ones nor to the bunglers. Furthermore, the keyboards are kept in the background. The album comes up with an interesting concept: each of the four long songs represents a season and the changes it brings to nature. NEGURA BUNGET neatly integrate Romanian folk elements and take you on a journey to their home country. This does not mean they use any folk instruments – we hear the classic Metal axes, keyboards and stuff – somehow it’s the approach to the songwriting. I find it more melancholic, yet lighter than classic Black Metal. And a bit weird in a positive sense. Slight point of criticism: the clean vocals don’t sound convincing to me. This CD will be delivered in a handmade deluxe box and I do recommend it to sickos into exotic (Black) Metal indeed. By the way: you can simulate the circle of the seasons at home by pressing the repeat button! www.negurabunget.com
