What do you expect from a band that uses snow covered trees on the front cover picture and a logo with fonts in the good old Bathory style?! A Scandinavian Black Metal act, either from Sweden or Norway, right?! Well, not really in this case. NELDORETH is indeed a Black Metal band (a duo to be more precise), but they are hailing from sunny Italy. Hey, wait a minute – no need to ignore them just because of that… I know that Italy hasn’t really been a convincing place for this type of music yet, but the four tracks on the self titled MCD by these guys are really impressive. Totally uncompromising, raw, fast and highly aggressive Black Metal – kinda like a mixture between old MARDUK meets LUNAR AURORA (the latter minus the keyboards)! Not really original, but at least intense and Metal to the bone! This ain’t no wimp shit and you certainly won’t find any nice Gothic melodies within the approx. 18 minutes, which is more than fine with me! It seems to me that NELDORETH really understood what this music is all about, so you shouldn’t hesitate to contact them for further info: www.neldoreth.com
