NEURAXIS from Montreal, Canada, are the missing link between (progressive) brutal US Death and melodic Swedeath. I’ve never heard a melodic band sounding that brutal and complex at the same time! Recorded at the studio of Pierre Rémillard (GORGUTS, CRYPTOPSY), ‘Truth Beyond…’ offers an excellent sound and a modern cover artwork by Mike Harrison (DYING FETUS, MISERY INDEX). It’s no wonder the singer from CEPHALIC CARNAGE contributed guest vocals to this album. On the other hand, NEURAXIS are less chaotic than CEPHALIC. That “medieval” acoustic part on ‘Impulse’ is so special and uncommon for this genre – yet it perfectly fits! Definitely a band of their own. The European tour in September 2003 should increase NEURAXIS’ popularity immensely if they can transfer their energy from CD to the stage as well. Watch out for these guys!
