All you underground dwellers with a taste for brain splattering brutal Death done US style shoud’ve come across of the previous NEUROMA split CD with DAWN OF CHAOS called "Northern Discomfort" released back in 2009. Now two years later NEUROMA has cooked up a full-length slab of pummelling brutality called "Extremophile" and it’s a name that perfectly fits the contents of this nasty stew. What you get here is a mix of SUFFOCATION, CANNIBAL CORPSE, IMMOLATION, DEEDS OF FLESH, etc. i.e. technical, brutal Death Metal with lots of slamming riffs, tempo changes and kinda monotonous guttural growls sometimes balanced against higher screams, produced to a maximum gut-ripping effect where you can hear every instrument perfectly clear with lots of low end, so big cudos for professional sound and presentation. Although I’m not a huge fan of this style, it still sounds very refreshing and dare I say organic compared to most of the technical Death Metal releases coming put these days. NEUROMA puts a big emphasis on the overall groove and all those little nuances, like snippets from movies, breaks and tempo changes, so "Extremophile" manages to keep me interested almost throughout the whole album without drifting into land of boredom. Sickly absurd and sometimes funny lyrics perfectly complement the music, just to give you a little taste here are a few songtitles to stir up your imagination: ‘Chicken Poodle Soup’, ‘Semi-Skinned Milf’, ‘Quadraspaz’ and suchlike will give you hours of fun to growl along!
