This is the second full length of this Swedish diabolic band that plays a quite aggressive form of Black Metal with a lot of ritual Death Metal infused. Comparisons with bands like WATAIN, OFERMOD, MAYHEM and DISSECTION are a good point of reference. Still, I feel a very personal and mystic aura in all the compositions, which I must add, comes with some of the best production I have heard for the style, with a pounding rhythm section, a great drum sound, and vicious and brutal vocals. Something that also shines through all of the album are the very good guitar solos, not in the fact that they are played for the sake of doing a solo, but for the well-crafted times and essence they add to the music. This kind of orthodox Black Metal approach, which by the way goes always hand in hand with morbid Death Metal, proves that extreme music still can offer interesting music, no matter how much it will remind you to this or that band. As long as it is played with this quality, I welcome bands like SACRILEGIOUS IMPALEMENT, VALKYRJA and NIDSANG to keep on creating this ritualistic death Black Metal of fire, which is a fire burning and destructive ray of damnation upon the weak souls.
