Bands like this simply bore me to death! NIGHTSIDE is another Swedish newcomer act dedicated to the Melodic Death Metal style that countless others have already been doing for many many years now. Will it never stop? Will labels never notice that it’s been getting too much?! I really wonder how many copies they are still able to sell of those kinda products… Of course also NIGHTSIDE are skilled and pretty young musicians that come up with a whole lot of nice melodylines and a good production, but what they are most importantly completely lacking in is an own identity! All they do is copy an established formular without adding too much of their own ideas to it. If you would compile me a compilation of all these bands, I would probably never ever manage to separate them all from each other. They all combine the same aggressive vocal style with melodic guitarwork… I mean, how many DARK TRANQUILLITY’s and IN FLAMES’ do we actually need? Even the original bands started to repeat themselves or changed direction in the meantime. Not even the coverart is unique (Joe Petagno again…). Wake me when it’s over, zzzzzZZZZZZ…
