NUCLEAR are by far no strangers in the underground scene anymore. Having released a couple of strong releases over the past few years the quintet is one of the most dynamic and live active outfits from Chile. "Apatrida" is their latest output featuring five new tunes (incl. an EXPLOITED cover version called ‘Chaos Is My Life’) of technical brillant and aggressive Thrash Metal. If you have heard any of their previous works you will know that their raging music is heavily influenced by the Californian gods SLAYER. Even if you can consider this fact almost as a trademark of NUCLEAR’s sound the five piece from Arica throws enough own ideas into the battle to create an interesting alloy of total headbanging steel. Tracks like ‘Architects Of War’ or the title track (which is sung in Spanish) kick seriously ass and showcase once again the class of the extreme Metal scene from Chile. The riffs are crushing, bone dry and easily split your maggots infested skull. Especially the mid pace sections are totally ripping. The EXPLOITED cover (taken from the "Fuck The System" album) was a little bit revamped into a smashing and thrashing tune and can convince me as well. The sound of the mini album is dense with fat guitars pounding drum work and leaves nothing to be desired. If you already enjoyed the band’s other stuff or you are into quality Thrash Metal in general then you should not hesitate to check this one out. You can get in touch with the band at www.nuclear.cl or their label at www.sickbangers.cl for further info.
