Formed back in 1992, with only one demo released 3 years later; before they came up with this full-length debut album in 2007, here’s Chilean Black / Death / War Metal. Occidens deliver elements of speed, brutality, blasphemous and crushing kind of Black / Death Metal. While you listen to this album, don’t ever hope that you’ll get some rest out of the highest velocity of their inhuman brutal music. Everything on this album is played at highest speed, the guitar, the bass and especially the insane blastbeat drumming that will surely blast your head off!! The vocalization is kind of razor sharp like a series of bullets were shot in the heads of your enemies. It’s easy for me to say that Occidens are hardly inspired by these so-called War Metal gods – Blasphemy and Sarcofago, and the similarities to this sound can also be heard from Impiety, Ravager and Infernal War. And never expect that this kind of Metal will come with a polished production since this type of hateful music is always raw and painful; please remember this band is singing about war, Anti-Christ and Satan, a polished production would be weird! This album is completed with 2005’s "Descending Of The Fire Hordes" demo material. The sound of these four tracks do not differ much from what they recorded for this album but expect the sound to be much rawer. There are two songs on this demo: ‘Descending Of The Fire Hordes’ and ‘Tyrant Warlust’ were re-recorded with much more improvement for the album. www.deathgasm.com
