In times of underground support via laptop and the internet old formats like demos and EPs have become like an innocent priest in today’s church – extremely rare. But there are still enough persons, like our dear friends from Genocide Aesthetics, which can’t get enough of true Black Metal on true black vinyl. The young underground label is (again) presenting a release with a more than convincing package. This EP here is strictly limited to only 300 items and comes with professional artwork and a cardboard inlay plus postcard. PAGAN HELLFIRE – one of Canada’s oldest bands, that has already been founded in 1995, had completely undercut my radar. They are offering us 2 very strong tracks of true Black Metal. Especially the second song ‘Anthem Of War, Forever To Be Sung’ shows a band with strong roots in the first era of Black Metal without sounding dull and / or predictable. With this track the one man act with a long discography of four full releases and several old school formats shows his full potential.
