PANDEMONIC
The Art Of Hunting
(self-financed)
13:41min

Sweden’s PANDEMONIC have been around since 1998 already and released two demos (“Lycanthropy” and “Ravenous”) as well as a self-financed full length album (“The Authors Of Nightfear”) ever since. “The Art Of Hunting” is their newest offering (recorded in 2003), a nice little four tracker, which features the tracks ‘Ravenous’, ‘The Lycanthrope Within’, ‘1764 (The Beast Of Gevaudan)’ and ‘The Art Of Hunting’. The band plays a very refreshing form of old school Thrash Metal, with obvious influences from early KREATOR, EXODUS, SADUS, SLAYER and the likes, yet maintaining their own integrity. All in all their material sounds very matured in terms of the playing- and arrangement abilities and the production also turned out pretty convincing for a self-financed release. Only the vocals could need some improvement here and there. I actually really like them whenever they come across very aggressive sounding and also the higher screams fit in perfectly, but the more “normal” (yet angry) way of singing is not my cup of coffee. Apart from that a very cool and promising act for everyone who dislikes the modern way of “Thrash Metal”. There’s a bunch of MP3s available on the band’s website www.pandemonic.com, so feel free to check them out.
