PARFAXITAS is an international (United States / Iceland) Black Metal band, with a pretty evil sound. At first listening, I noticed a combination of aggressiveness and obscure aura that easily captured me as I always tend to be trapped in this type of spell with the minimum resistance. And as the songs kept running, I identified that the evilness was there and that definitely came to take control. The vocal performance is an aspect I would like to highlight from this album as aside from being responsable for the typical Black Metal atmosphere, the vocal duties deliver the suffering of an agonizing soul, and I’d really give this aspect enough emphasis as, in my opinion, it conducts the north of the band. At some specific points, I found that charcteristic affliction in the vocals that resembles (not meaning they’re like) a band like ESPIRITISMO. Moreover, despite the fact that they have very different styles and approaches, I still had that same sensation when I first listened to them. PARFAXITAS is covering the space with pain and despair. That’s all you need from this band! But on the other hand you still get as much furiosity and wilderness as you want to be a Black Metal band. With a very well-balanced production in sound and a weaver of the black moon perfectly represented in the artwork, this six tracks debut album comes to add feeling to the kingdom. With “K.R” on vocals, “Nero” on guitars, “YhA” on bass and “B.E.” on drums, all of them experimented musicians as they have been part of a lot of some other bands, this quartet is here to stay.
