POSTHUM is another newcomer out of the northern woods of Norway who is trying to add their share to what once was defined as true Norwegian art. And there are for sure far worst examples for the third generation of Black Metal combos from Norway. But it seems that the band is still searching their own style because during the 40 minutes playing time the influences are raging from very traditional true Norwegian Black Metal in vein of TAAKE or old SATYRICON to more melodic examples like AETERNUS. The band was founded in 2002 and their only sign of life so far was their demo released in 2005 so nobody can blame the band for recording their debut too fast. And especially the longer and more melodic songs like ‘Sacrificed’ with an interesting violin introduction are the songs which will be memorized. This not automatically means that the other side of the coin – meaning the more traditional songs – are not worth mentioning here but POSTHUM must find a way to give their music a more unique note because some songs on "Posthum" are just passing by without any remarkable moment.
