Sometimes the name of a band is so weird that it will give you no indication of what they play. QUESTION is a young band from Mexico and this an EP they recorded after their great debut album “Doomed Passages”. Let me tell you that even with the weird name, they are a total skull crushing Death Metal machine. Imagine a clash between INCANTATION, AUTOPSY, GOD MACABRE and Swedish CREMATORY and you will have a slight idea of the power of this band. Total old school Death Metal in a brutal and asphyxiating way. With killer riffs and a fantastic bass work, that adds a lot of depth to the music. The vocals are not your usual low growling, they are more in the vein of early ENTOMBED. And the production is perfect for this music style, of suffocating Death Metal. There is also a very high musicianship here, as the music while not technical per-se, it is quite complex, but that adds more to the aura of impending doom. Also the lyrics are dealing with existential questions (maybe hence the name) and the mortality of men. This EP of almost 25 minutes is some of the best music in the style I have heard lately. The aura and way of doing things can only be compared to what DEAD CONGREGATION and KARNARIUM were able to create.
