This Canadian outfit delivers us ‘Samurai Crushing Metal’ and I have to say they do their job quite good here. Their metallic assault is riff laden, heavy midtempo Thrash / Heavy Metal with excellent guitar work. This CD-R (like the HUTT stuff also released as tape only) includes five tracks of the band’s album "Incinerator and Krusher" as well as three tracks recorded live in Toronto on the Equalizing Distort Radio Show. These headbangers saw their light of day in 1998 and have released various recordings up to now. Like almost all Canadian hordes RAMMER also know how to handle their instruments and create some excellent crushing Metal tunes. The tracks are mostly mid paced but they don’t get monotonous as the band has some cool riffs to offer and spice it with some cool melody lines / leads. The sound quality is quite good and even the three Live In Radio Show songs have a nice production. The radio show tracks are recorded in 2004 and you can hear that the band added a little bit more speed to them… ‘Extinction’s Embrace’ is even totally speedy. If you like some cool, heavy underground Metal which gets its influences from the 80s you should feel free to get in contact either with the band www.rammer.ca or Nihilistic Holocaust http://nihilistic.voila.net
