RAVENDUSK

I know that in certain circles bands like DIMMU BORGIR, LIMBONIC ART and CRADLE OF FILTH are the next best things to sliced bread. But to this tempered / weathered writer, acts such as these are actually the next best thing to a fistful of Xanax! Followed of course by a few shots of high dollar whiskey. In other words, if you are in need of a sleep aid then by all means, may I suggest RAVENDUSK? The next, overly dramatic, symphonic-based, B grade level horde to join the legion roster of the moguls at Mondongo Canibale Records. Now if that doesn’t convince you to buy this CD, I actually located a preamble to a review online for LIMBONIC ART that could assuredly pass as the text on a label enticement sticker for the outside of this album. “This is captivating music, existing only to slaughter souls as they wander the bleak void of space.” Wait… It gets better…”Combining celestial keyboard genius and dark emotional vocals that only the god Morpheus could weave.” Here’s the punch line… “Only a handful of bands can achieve an atmosphere that will send you hurdling past the stars and planets into black oblivion.” “Ravendusk is that band.” How’s that for a teaser for restful sleep, eh?
